Unrest

There are points in life when you are led in a direction in which your destination can be seen, yet there is a state of unrest and the reason to that remains unknown. While painting this, I felt an emotion close to that while to some it was portrayed as a feeling of sadness. The way I see it, an unknown destination tells how interesting the journey may be and that isn’t really sad, but intense.
Monotones give depth in a painting and while playing with the different shades of black may have been one of the reasons for the perceived negativity, I have used them to portray intensity and depth.
This is a painting that is very close to my heart and it’s only perfect that it should take the place of my first blog post
